    Description

As I embark on my cycling journey from Shirojiri to Kyoto via Ogaki, I can feel the thrill of adventure pulsating through my veins. The crisp morning air greets me as I pedal away from Shirojiri, leaving behind its quaint streets and charming atmosphere. Today's destination: Ogaki, a city brimming with history and culture. The route from Shirojiri to Ogaki offers stunning views of the Japanese countryside. As I pedal along, the towering peaks of the Japanese Alps loom in the distance, providing a breathtaking backdrop to my journey. Along the way, I pass by the picturesque town of Nakatsugawa, known for its traditional architecture and vibrant local markets. One notable stop on today's route is the Magome-juku, a well-preserved post town along the historic Nakasendo Trail. Steeped in history, Magome-juku offers a glimpse into Japan's feudal past, with its cobbled streets and traditional wooden buildings. As I explore the town, I can't help but imagine the travelers who once traversed these same roads centuries ago. Another highlight of today's ride is the Suwa Shrine, nestled amidst lush greenery on the shores of Lake Suwa. This sacred site is dedicated to Suwa Myojin, the deity of the Suwa region, and offers a serene oasis for weary travelers. Taking a moment to pause and reflect at the shrine, I feel a profound sense of peace wash over me, reminding me of the spiritual connection between nature and culture in Japan.
